    I would like to use my office database server from my home because lot of extra work that I can do from my home ; where server address that we are using in office’s other computer is
    Server type : Dell
    os of server : Red hat linux
    database : Oracle 10g
    front : web base Java
    developed by : ITphonix.co.in
    and we are using ADSL Internet in office and I am using dialup modem in my home.
    distance of my home from office : around 8 km
    plz suggest/guide me how i can do it ?

      regardless of your speed, you can do one thing if you have access to your office router.

      login to your router..
      do a port mapping, or port forwarding by following:

      name: oracleDB
      external ip : blank
      external port from : 9000 (anything you would like to)
      external port to : 9000
      internal port : 9001 (the port you use internally)
      assigned local ip : (your server IP)
      mode : tcp

      once you are able to do this, you are 80% done, actually 90% done…
      you just need to get your office public ip. if your office has static public ip

      you can access your oracleDBserver by following ip

      if you aint got static ip, you might want to take a look at DDNS. keywords,
      dynamic ip, no-ip.com, ddns.org

    how I can get Public IP because my office now just using in local level, I mean for 10 computers only..
    And I have internet connection through CDMA Modem of 156kbps.
    I have made 2 host in your mentions website…



    but I don’t have idea to use it and my home computer o/s is Windows xp.
